NAGOYA, Japan — Australian and Japanese National Team managers announced their starting pitchers for Saturday’s 19:00 JST contest at the Nagoya Dome.

Samurai Japan skipper Atsunori Inaba will hand the ball to Kodai Senga of the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks (Nippon Professional Baseball – NPB). Senga was named to the 2017 All-World Baseball Classic team.

Australia skipper Steve Fish will go with Brisbane Bandits (Australian Baseball League – ABL) ace Travis Blackley. The 35-year-old made his big-league debut with the Seattle Mariners in 2004. Blackley played for NPB’s Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles in 2014 and for the Kia Tigers of the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) in 2011.

World No. 2 Japan and No. 8 Australia are meeting in a two-game international series, which concludes on Sunday, 4 March, in Osaka.

WBSC will live-stream the series at for audiences outside Japan and Australia.

FOX Sports Australia will broadcast both games live Down Under, while TBS and TV Asahi have acquired the series’ broadcasting rights in Japan, along with cable/online sports channel J SPORTS.
