Cuba, the two-time defending U-15 World Champions, and host Panama are the lone unbeaten teams following Day 3 of the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup.

China 5, Germany 4

Zixu Zhao drove in two runs including an RBI single in a three-run fifth inning to lead world No. 22 China to a 5-4 win over No. 21 Germany.

China earned their first win of the event receiving 4.2 innings on the mound from starting pitcher Ruofei Ding who yielded one earned run on two hits and walk along with five strikeouts. Ding gave way to Yuchen Wang who was awarded the victory.

Yannic Walther drove in two runs for Germany as part of a 2-for-4 game at the plate that included one double.

Peter Van Bergen was the losing pitcher allowing five runs (three earned) over four innings of work.

Dominican Republic 20, Australia 8

No. 12 Dominican Republic recorded 20 hits including three home runs to hand No. 8 Australia a 20-8 defeat.

Trailing by a run in the second inning, Dominican Republic struck for nine runs in the second and ended the game after six innings due to the mercy rule.

Oscar Aude Castillo had a big game at the plate driving in six runs on the strength of three hits including an RBI double in the second inning before connecting for a grand slam in the third.

Not far behind Castillo, Deyvison De Los Santos Ruize belted a pair of doubles and added a home run to finish the game with three hits and four RBI.

Abraham Lorenzo Dionisio pitched 4.2 innings in relief to earn the win while Australia starting pitcher Zeke Maguire was the loser.

James Nati homered in the bottom of the fist to give Australia an early lead.

Panama 7, Brazil 3

Kenin Pinto Vega struck out six batters over 5.1 innings on the mound to lead No. 14 Panama to a 7-3 win over No. 19 Brazil.

Panama broke a 1-1 tie with five runs in the fourth receiving RBI singles from Mauricio Pierre Alvarez and Luis Durango Otero.

Sulivan Ribeiro de Almeida took the loss for Brazil.

Cuba 9, Japan 7

Kevin Alcolea Rivero’s two-run double in the sixth helped power Cuba past Japan, in what was a rematch of the 2016 Final.

Cuba built a 7-0 lead after scoring two runs in the first and five in the second only to see Japan storm all the way back to tie the score after five innings.

Frank Gonzalez Cuellar tripled home a run in the first and added a two-run single in the second to pace Cuba’s batters. Japan received a two-hit performance including a solo home run from Reiya Saka in the fifth.

Kevin Rosales Hernandez provided Cuba with 2.1 scoreless innings of relief and was credited with the win while Hayato Takenaka took the loss.
