It was a long super round day 2 in Tainan. A tropical storm forced the WBSC Technical Commission to postpone the game between Japan and Korea. After the wins by Chinese Taipei and Cuba, the score will be a key to define the medal round

It was a long super round Day 2 in Tainan.

Cuba came from behind to beat Venezuela, 5-4, at the end of a very exciting game that ended on a bases-loaded walk-off walk earned by Cuba’s starting pitcher Johan Rodriguez.
Rodriguez went the distance and had quite a few ups and downs. He allowed three home runs, two of them hit by Leonel Dominguez, but didn’t walk a batter and completed the task with 74 pitches, 52 of them strikes.

The game between Japan and Korea was delayed by a tropical storm with Korea leading 4-1 in the bottom of the third. Japan was at-bat with one out and the bases empty. After a two-hour wait, the game was postponed and it will resume at 12 noon on Saturday, 3 August.

Rain delayed also Day 2 of the super round

A tropical storm hit Tainan in the afternoon of Friday, 2 August

The storm imposed a two-hour delay on the start time of the final game of the day.
Chinese Taipei outscored Mexico, 11-1, breaking the score open in the bottom of the fourth against Mexico’s starter Falcon. The hosts made him pay his struggles on control. Falcon allowed two walks and hit two batters.
Kuo Chen An went the distance for Chinese Taipei.
