The Czech Republic secured eighth place with their fourth win in the tournament. The USA proved to be no match for any National Team in the round. Italy also had a winning record (3-2) and finished ninth

Four games were played in the last day of the placement round of the U-12 Baseball World Cup.

The USA completed in four innings the game that had been postponed on Friday and beat, 15-0, the Czech Republic. The USA will win the placement round and finish seventh overall.

The USA wasted no time in getting to starter Jan Novak and scored nine in the top of the first.
Designated hitter Dillon Adkins hit a three-run homer and third baseman Lucas Tinajero walked in the first at-bat and then launched a two-run home run in his second at-bat of the inning.

After the USA added two more runs in the top of the second, the game was delayed for two hours because of a heavy thunderstorm and then postponed.

As the game resumed, with two outs in the top of the third, the USA scored four runs against Filip Hedl on a three-run homer by left fielder Rashad Hayes and a double by catcher Jaiden Lo Re.

The Czech Republic had reasons to celebrate

The Czech Republic had secured eighth place earlier with a 9-2 win against Australia.
Australia got on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth against Matyas Hasal.
The Czech Republic came right back, scoring four in the bottom half of the frame against Kristian Haeusler. Third baseman Michal Cajz singled in a run and two more came on a two-RBI double by Hasal. A fourth run scored on an error.

The Czechs didn’t need to look back and extended the lead, taking full advantage of four defensive errors. Cajz collected four RBIs.

Australia won two games in the placement round

Australia finished the tournament with a 2-3 record

Italy defeated Fiji, 16-1 in four innings and finished the U-12 Baseball World Cup with a winning record and in ninth place.

Noemi Cortesi earned the win for Italy going three innings and allowing one run on three hits.
The Italian line up scored two runs in the first against William Johns and never looked back. Martin Anselmi came from the bench and went 2 for 2, with three RBIs. Also catcher Jordan Ariani, third baseman Matteo Giorgeschi and left fielder Thomas Bondi enjoyed multi-hit games.

The USA scored 11 runs in the first against Jaedon Jonathan and Jayden Clarke and went on to beat South Africa, 18-0, in four innings.

Alexander Mercurius and Brenden Lewis shared duties on the mound and didn’t allow a walk or a hit. South Africa reached base only on a defensive error.

Lucas Tinajero, today playing at first base, shined once again for the USA, going 2 for 2 with a home run. Catcher Jaiden Lo Re went deep and finished at 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs. Third baseman Gavin Fien also collected three RBIs.
