Chinese Taipei will play for the title of World Champion against the USA, so may not have been 100% focused on the last game of the super round. Canada nonetheless impressed with 17 hits and earned the win

Canada won the first game in the super round as they outscored Chinese Taipei, 12-7.
Chinese Taipei had already secured a spot in the final, thus may not have been fully focused. Canada’s bats were nonetheless pretty impressive with as many as six players enjoying a multiple-hit game.

Chinese Taipei got to Canada’s starter Adam Maier in the top of the first when Lo Wie Chieh doubled and Lin Tzu Hao tripled. Another run scored on a wild pitch.

Canada reversed the lead in the bottom of the third. Starter Chen Chih Chieh left after allowing the tying runs. Canada took the lead on a sacrifice fly by Owen Diodati.

Canada’s offence literally exploded in the bottom of the fourth. Joshua Walker and Dasan Brown doubled. Tyrell Schofiel-Sam, Raphael Pellettier and Diodati singled. Chinese Taipei gave a little help with a defensive error.

Canada added four more hits with Dasan Brown, Ryan Leitch, Owen Diodati and Austin Gomm in the bottom of the sixth and forced Chinese Taipei to make the call to Yueh Chang Hua in the bullpen.

Chinese Taipei didn’t give up easily. Also its bats proved they can be dangerous.
Maier left with two outs in the sixth and Chinese Taipei scored three runs against reliever Antoine Jean.
Evan O’Toole took the mound in the top of the ninth and gave up a couple of hits and a walk.

Elias Saul inherited the bases loaded and a five-run lead. He needed ten pitches, eight for a strike, to get the last two outs.
