Teams from Asia, Africa and Oceania confirmed for WBSC U-15, U-23 Baseball World Cups

World No. 1 Japan and No. 2 Chinese Taipei will participate in the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup while Japan, Chinese Taipei and No. 21 China have qualified for the WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup after the Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) announced that the Asian Baseball Championship and the U-15 Asian Baseball Championship will not be contested in 2022 due to travel restrictions forced on the area by a surge in COVID-19 cases.

BFA informed the WBSC that the standings of the 2019 editions of the two events would serve as qualifiers.

Accordingly, world No. 1 Japan and No. 2 Chinese Taipei have earned the right to participate in the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup.

Meanwhile, WBSC Africa has confirmed South Africa's participation in the tournament, while WBSC Oceania honoured Guam's historic qualification for the cancelled edition in 2020/1.

World No. 14 Czech Republic and No. 22 France (Europe) have already qualified for the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup, while the five teams from the Americas are to be determined in a qualifier scheduled from 3 to 12 June in the Carabobo State, Venezuela. A wild card will complete the participants.

The V WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup is scheduled from 26 August to 4 September in Hermosillo, Mexico.

WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup

Japan, Chinese Taipei and world No. 21 China will represent Asia in the IV WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup, while South Africa has been confirmed as Africa's representative.

World No. 10 Australia (Oceania), No. 18 Germany and No. 8 Netherlands (Europe) have already qualified. The National Teams from the Americas (4) and a wild card are still to be determined.

The IV WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup is scheduled from 14 to 23 October in Taipei City, TPE.
