Whakaata Māori named official broadcaster of WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup 2022

Whakaata Māori will livestream all games of the tournament on its digital platform MĀORI+ for New Zealand fans. All Black Sox games will also be broadcast live on television. For the rest of the world, fans will be able to watch the 50 games of the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup through GameTime.

New Zealand’s indigenous broadcaster Whakaata Māori (formerly known as Māori Television) has been named the official broadcaster of the XVII WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup, to be held in Auckland, New Zealand, from 26 November to 4 December.

Whakaata Māori, the first indigenous broadcaster in the world selected to host a Softball World Cup, will livestream all games of the tournament on its digital platform MĀORI+ for New Zealand fans. All Black Sox games will also be broadcast live on television.

“We have a chance to grow our game nationwide as well as promote what makes us unique as a nation on a global stage,” said Softball New Zealand CEO Tony Giles. “This has been an exciting collaboration from the start, ensuring that every Black Sox game will be free to air on every television screen across the country.”

For the rest of the world, fans will be able to watch the 50 games of the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup through WBSC's exclusive online GameTime video platform.
