Samurai Japan got 15 hits, including five doubles, and allowed only one walk in their final contest.

Japan needed only two at-bats to score 18 runs against Italy and win the game in four innings, 18-0, closing out both teams' runs at the U-12 Baseball World Cup in Tainan, Taiwan.

They used 15 hits, including five doubles, two by Akihiro Kobayashi. Ryota Akimoto and Ryosei Kawamura had three RBIs.

Japan used four pitchers to no-hit Italy. Haruki Narita started, Akihiro Kobayashi earned the win, and Yota Akimoto and Shunei Kashiwagi followed in relief.

Edoardo Angioni walked with one out in the bottom of the fourth to become the first and only Italian to reach base.

Japan finishes the Placement Round in first place, seventh overall in the VI WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup.

Italy will have to await the score of the afternoon game between South Africa and Czechia to know its placement.
