Olympic silver medal winning manager Mike Scioscia to manage in MLB All-Star Futures Game

Scioscia led the US National Team to Tokyo 2020 Olympics, going undefeated in the WBSC Americas Qualifier. The US would make it to the Olympic gold medal game, before falling to Japan.

Olympic silver medal-winning manager, and former All-Star catcher, Mike Scioscia will manage the National League team in the Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Star Futures Game on Saturday, 16 July, at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. He will face an American League team managed by former All-Star shortstop Jimmy Rollins

Scioscia knows Dodger Stadium well. He starred in 13 seasons for the Dodgers, helping them win the 1988 World Series. He earned his second World Series ring as the manager of the Los Angeles Angels in 2002.

Scioscia led the US National Team to Tokyo 2020 Olympics, going undefeated in the WBSC Americas Qualifier. The US would make it to the Olympic gold medal game, before falling to Japan.

Scioscia also participated in the Breakthrough Series, a diversity-focused amateur baseball development experience that features 80 high school athletes from around the US.
