TOKYO — Korean teen sensation Jung-hoo Lee, son of legend Jong-beom Lee, blasted a two-out RBI triple in the bottom of the 6th Inning to score the only run between rivals Chinese Taipei and Korea in the WBSC-sanctioned Asia Professional Baseball Championship 2017 at the Tokyo Dome Friday night.

Korea and Chinese Taipei starting pitchers Giyeong Im (Kia Tigers – KBO) and Kuan-Yu Chen (Chiba Lotte Marines – NPB) kept the game scoreless through five innings. Im earned the win, while Chen was tagged with the loss.
Chinese Taipei threatened in the top of the 8th inning when Po-jung Wang (Lamigo Monkeys – CPBL) hit a two-out double with a runner at first base that put the tying run 90 feet away. Korea then brought in closer Pilljoon Jang to put out the fire, striking out Tsu-Hao Chen (Chinatrust Brothers – CPBL) to leave the runners stranded and preserve the win for Korea.
Official attendance Friday night was 6,040.
Chinese Taipei (0-1) will next take on Japan (1-0) in the last game of the opening round-robin on Saturday, while Korea (1-1) will await the result.
The top two teams will play on Sunday in the championship game.
