2017 World Baseball Classic qualifier opens today as Brazil, Great Britain, Israel, Pakistan seek final slot

The final qualifier for the 2017 World Baseball Classic opens today at MCU Park in Brooklyn, New York. World No. 15 Brazil, No. 23 Pakistan, No. 30 Great Britain and No. 42 Israel will be competing for the 16th and final spot into the top-tier international event.

NEW YORK — The final qualifier for the WBSC-sanctioned World Baseball Classic in 2017 opens today at MCU Park in Brooklyn, New York.  The National Teams of world No. 15 Brazil, No. 23 Pakistan, No. 30 Great Britain and No. 42 Israel will be competing for the 16th and final spot into the top-tier international event.

Day 1 features Pakistan vs. Brazil at 12:00 EDT, and Great Britain vs. Israel at 19:00 EDT.

The Final in Brooklyn will be contested on Sunday, 25 September, with the winner advancing to Group B — alongside No. 3 Korea, No. 4 Chinese Taipei and No. 10 Netherlands — for the Opening Round of the World Baseball Classic next March.
