Major League Baseball announced that on April 17-18 2018 the Minnesota Twins (home team) and the Cleveland Indians will play 2 regular season games in Puertorico. One of Cleveland’s marquee players is shortstop Francisco Lindor (cover photo by Getty Images), who starred for Puertorico in the March World Baseball Classic, the tournament sanctioned by WBSC and awarding the title of Baseball World Champion to the winner.

Major League Baseball hasn’t played regular season games in Puertorico since the 2010 season. In 2016 concerns about the Zyka virus forced MLB to move planned games between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Florida Marlins out of island.
