Baseball, softball added to Olympic Week

LAUSANNE, Switzerland — Baseball and softball will for the first time be a part of “Olympic Week”, a week-long sporting festival hosted by the Olympic Museum alongside Lake Geneva.

LAUSANNE, Switzerland — Baseball and softball will for the first time be a part of “Olympic Week”, a week-long sporting festival hosted by the Olympic Museum alongside Lake Geneva.

Taking place in “Olympic Capital  Lausanne, thousands of visitors and children are expected to get active and sample various sports.

WBSC, together with players and coaches from the local club Lausanne Indians, will set up a batting cage and give hitting/throwing instruction.

Building on the historic Olympic return on the Olympic Programme at the Tokyo 2020 Games, the WBSC is leveraging on its regained Olympic status to further boost grassroots participation. Last week, WBSC, the world governing body, announced its presence for the Youth Olympic Games 2018 in Buenos Aires.
