PARIS — Baseball and softball will be a part of the festivities when Paris is transformed into a gigantic sports park to celebrate the annual 23 June Olympic Day and support the city’s candidature for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Baseball and softball will be making their historic return as Olympic events at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, and the French Federation of Baseball and Softball (FFBS) will have an exhibition booth for Olympic Day visitors at Les Invalides from 23-24 June.

More than 30 sporting disciplines will be on display against the iconic backdrops and landmarks of Paris.

Olympic Day is an occasion for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to promote the role of sport and physical activity in society. Activities around the world are being led by the IOC, with support from Olympic athletes, National Olympic Committees, International Sport Federations, Olympic Host Cities/bidders and many others who share the Olympic vision.

Paris and Los Angeles are the finalists to host the Olympic Games in 2024, and the IOC will vote on 13 September in Lima, Peru, with the possibility of awarding the hosting rights for both the 2024 and 2028 Games.
