PRAGUE — The last days of summer will make Czech Republic the center of the men’s softball world. The picturesque city of Prague will be the site of the new WBSC-sanctioned Intercontinental Cup, which will run from 28 August to 1 September.

The picturesque city of Prague will be the site of the new WBSC-sanctioned Intercontinental Cup, which will run from 28 August to 1 September.

The battle of the continents will feature a seven-team format and top-ranked Men’s Softball National Teams from Africa, Asia, Europe, and North and South America: No. 1 New Zealand cover picture), No. 3 Japan, No. 4 Argentina, No. 6 USA, No. 7 Czech Republic, No. 11 Denmark and No. 12 Botswana.

Czech National Television has been awarded the television rights in the host country, while all games will be live-streamed by Playo.tv.

In addition to the potential softball exposure to European and international markets, Czech Softball President Gabriel Waage said: “The event is a great opportunity for us, as the organizers of the [Men’s Softball] World Cup 2019, to make sure that everything will work.”

The WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup 2019, the pinnacle international softball event, will be hosted in Prague by Czech Softball.

Fans in Prague will also be able to watch Team Europe take on defending World Champions New Zealand, and a European Super Cup from 3-8 September.
