SYDNEY – Baseball Australia has finalised its search and selection of the nation’s top 11- and 12-year-old players, who will compete against other countries’ top players at the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup® in Tainan, Taiwan (28 July – 6 August).
Nations can bring a roster of 18 of their best players for the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup.
Baseball Australia’s U-12 National Team roster includes players from five of the country’s six federal states.
“This is a team of talented young men who have come highly recommended by state personnel and the team’s coaching staff,” Baseball Australia’s Head of High Performance, Glenn Williams.
Australia won the U-12 Oceania Championship earlier this year to qualify for the U-12 Baseball World Cup.
Australia is currently ranked No. 8 in the WBSC Baseball World Rankings and finished 10th at the last U-12 Baseball World Cup in 2015.
Australia will open against world No. 2 USA, the two-time defending U-12 world champions.
