PITTSBURGH, PA (USA) – Adam Frazier, who was a member of the U.S. National Team that captured the silver medal at the 2015 WBSC Premier12, singled in his first at-bat while making his Major League Baseball debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Frazier was promoted by the Pirates last Friday and was leading the International League (AAA) with a .333 batting average.  Frazier has since collected his first big league RBI and stolen base, and is currently 3-for-6 (.500) for the Pirates.

In the inaugural Premier12™ global championship last November, Frazier hit .355 (11-for-31, 4 2B, 5 RBI) over eight games and was named to the All-World Team (second baseman).  In the semifinal versus Mexico, Frazier went 3-for-4 and earned Hublot Player of the Game honours.

Asked about his recent “whirlwind” experience in baseball, Frazier told reporters:

“I got to go to Taiwan and Japan, which was a pretty awesome experience, and now I’m here in Pittsburgh. Seeing the world…and having a good time doing it.”
