Nigeria is working hard on baseball and softball development.

Henrica Dirks (The Netherlands: cover picture) spent 10 days in Hoffa, Ibadan. Together with pitchers Bo and Kim Horsten, she led a softball Camp for girls of the school communities in Akure, Ibadan, Ilorin, Lagos and donated some equipment. She also evaluated the Nigeria softball program.

Ibadan will also host a baseball Camp for kids (10 to 15 years of age) and coaches organised by Little League International Disctrict 01, that includes the south western States of Lagos, Oyo, Ondo, Osun and Ekiti. The Camp is set to start on Saturday, 16 December and will run until Wednesday, 20 December. Coaches Gerard Hall and Raymond Thomas (USA) will be amongst the instructors.
The Alaafin (or Traditional Ruler) of Oyo Oba Lamidi Adeyemi will open the Camp.

The Camp is also supported by the American Embassy in the Capital City Abuja and by Peace Hospice in Chicago. The CEO of Peace Hospice is Ronke Champion, a Nigerian woman who has been supporting baseball in her home country since 2012
