SEOUL — Stars of the 2015 Korean Men’s National Baseball Team — champions of the inaugural WBSC Premier12 — took home 2018 batting awards in the Korea Baseball (KBO) League, the nation’s top-tier professional baseball league.

Premier12 2015 MVP Hyun-soo Kim (LG Twins) won the KBO batting title, posting a league-high .362 batting average, while Byung-ho Park (Nexen Heroes) led KBO in slugging (.718) and on-base percentage (.457).

Kim, who returned in 2018 to KBO after two seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB), was also a member of Korea’s national teams that won the Olympic gold medal in 2008 and silver at the 2009 World Baseball Classic.

Both Kim and Park won gold medals with Korea at the 2014 and 2018 Asian Games.

Park spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons with MLB’s Minnesota Twins before returning to the Korean big leagues.
