GOLD COAST, Australia – – The World Baseball Softball Confederations (WBSC) together with Baseball Australia presented the new urban, youth-focused discipline Baseball5 during The Gold Coast Sports Festival 2019.

Yesterday,  boys and girls of Baseball Australia played exhibition games which caught the attention of everyone around the venue. Great Baseball5 actions, plus a catchy Mc, music and dressing of the venue created the perfect atmosphere for families and sports fans at the festival to enjoy and get and get acquainted with this new energetic discipline.

The baseball softball community  was present also the previous day during the opening ceremony, where young athletes took part in the celebration in the on the evening of May 8 participated singing ‘I am Australian’. Many relevant figures participated in the event, among those GAISF President Raffaele Chiulli, ASOIF President Francesco Ricci Bitti and former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon who also enjoyed signing the Baseball5 Ball.

I am a strong believer in the transformative power of sport,” eighth United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said in his opening address. “We can achieve many things through sport. Every individual must be able to practice sport without discrimination.


Today WBSC and Baseball Australia will introduce Baseball5 to students and school teachers of the area. in addition they will be opening the court and making certified WBSC Baseball5 experts available to everyone.
