18U BWC: Chinese Taipei walks off again

Seoul (Korea). Not even 24 hours after coming back against Canada, Chinese Taipei celebrated another walk-off win at the XXV IBAF 18U Baseball World Championship. They beat Panama 4-3 on a sac fly by Tzu Wei Lin in the bottom of the ninth inning. The team from Central America had just tied the game in the top of the eighth. Chinese Taipei improved to 3-1, while Panama dropped to 2-2.

Seoul (Korea). Colombia delivered the probably biggest upset of the XXV IBAF 18U Baseball World Championship so far on Monday evening, handing host Korea its first loss in the event in the fourth game. The team from South America scored two runs in the top of the ninth en route to a 3-1 stunner. They are now 2-2, keeping their chances alive to reach the final round.

Seoul (Korea). The United States won the highly anticipated and crucial Group A matchup against Venezuela on Monday evening at Jamsil Stadium. They needed an eighth-inning run to prevail by a final score of 3-2, overcoming a 0-2 deficit in the process. Venezuela dropped to 2-2 in the standings, while the USA improved to 3-1.

Seoul (Korea). Team USA rebounded from their 2-8 loss to Korea on Saturday with an 11-1 win over Colombia on Sunday at Mokdong Stadium. The American offense, which looked flat against the hosts, needed just seven innings, winning due to ten-run mercy rule. It is their second win in three games at the XXV IBAF 18U Baseball World Championship, as Colombia dropped to 1-2.

18U BWC: Italy finds no Problems against Czech Republic

The all-European challenge of day four at the XXV IBAF 18U Baseball World Championship between Italy and the Czech Republic was decided early. The Azzurri scored once in the first inning with Gasparini out of a hit by Mercuri (3-for-4, four RBI in the game), followed by a real big eigh-run second inning that led to an early ending in the seventh with a score of 12-1.

Seoul (Korea). Korea broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth inning en route to a 7-1 victory over Australia on Sunday afternoon. It was the first time that the host of the XXV IBAF 18U Baseball World Championship played at Mokdong Stadium, as they were able to improve to 3-0. The team from Down Under only threatened in the beginning and couldn’t come back at the end. They are now 1-2 and in danger to miss a ticket for the final round.

They dismantled Panama 8-0 thanks to a strong offensive performance and another great gem by their pitching staff. 18U BWC: Chinese Taipei prevails with Walk-Off Single in 9th

Seoul (Korea). After celebrating twice on the first two days, Canada was on the wrong end of a walk-off win on Sunday evening at Mokdong Stadium. Chinese Taipei rallied from a 0-5 deficit to win 6-5 on a walk-off RBI single by Chih Chieh Su with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. Both teams are 2-1 in Group B, still with chances to reach the final round.
