Women’s Baseball World Cup opens tomorrow (Monday) in Japan

MIYAZAKI, Japan – The ENEOS Presents VI IBAF Women’s Baseball World Cup, under the WBSC, gets underway tomorrow (Monday, Sept. 1st), with a full schedule of games.

MIYAZAKI, Japan – The ENEOS Presents VI IBAF Women’s Baseball World Cup, under the WBSC, gets underway tomorrow (Monday, Sept. 1st), with a full schedule of games.

Game 1: Canada vs. Netherlands

World T-No. 3 Canada will take on No. 9 Netherlands Monday morning at Ivy Stadium at 10:00 local time to open Group B play and the women’s world baseball championship. During their last contest against one another at the V Women’s Baseball World Cup in 2012, Canada defeated the Netherlands. (Follow #CANvsNED live play-by-play)

Game 2: Hong Kong vs. Venezuela 

No. 5 Venezuela and No. 13 Hong Kong will kick things off for Group A at 13:30 at Sun Marine Stadium. It will be Hong Kong’s first Women’s Baseball World Cup contest since 2010. Venezuela finished fifth in 2012. (Follow #HKGvsVEN live play-by-play)

Game 3: Chinese Taipei vs. United States

In the other Group B opening day contest, No. 2 United States and No. 6 Chinese Taipei will collide at Ivy Stadium at 14:30. The U.S. National Team bested Chinese Taipei in their only contest against each other at the 2012 Women’s Baseball World Cup. (Follow #TPEvsUSA live play-by-play)

Game 4: Australia vs. Japan

Top-ranked Japan and T-No. 3 Australia will finish off Day 1 action with their Group A contest at 19:00 at Sun Marine Stadium. Japan defeated Australia in both head-to-head contests at the 2012 Women’s Baseball World Cup en route to repeating as the three-time defending Women’s Baseball World Cup champion. (Follow #AUSvsJPN live play-by-play)

BROADCAST COVERAGE / ONLINE STREAMING

All “Madonna” Japan’s contests will be broadcast nationally via TV Asahi cable and locally via MRT TV (tape delay).

For global coverage outside Japan, AYM Sports will webcast all of Japan’s contests at www.internetv.tv, where the games will be made available for free.
