
MONTERREY, Mexico — The WBSC revealed the U-23 “All-World Team 2016” Sunday night, following the conclusion of the world championship final where No. 1 Japan claimed the top place on the podium after defeating No. 15 Australia.
Five nations and three continents (Americas, Asia and Oceania) are represented on the announced All-World Team.
Led by tournament Most Valuable Player Yusuke Masago of Japan, the All-World Team features 10 players.
Masago, a member of NPB’s Fukuoka Softbank Hawks, belted three home runs, drove in 13 runs and had an OPS of 1.334 to rank among tournament leaders.
