New Zealand’s Nathan Nukunuku elected to WBSC Softball Division Board of Directors as male athlete representative

WHITEHORSE, Yukon, Canada — Nathan Nukunuku (NZL) was elected by his peers during the 2017 WBSC Men’s Softball World Championship. All participating athletes were eligible to vote for their preferred athlete representative.

WHITEHORSE, Yukon, Canada — A new athlete representative has joined the WBSC Softball Division Board of Directors.

Nathan Nukunuku (NZL) was elected by his peers during the 2017 WBSC Men’s Softball World Championship. All participating athletes were eligible to vote for their preferred athlete representative.

Nukunuku has represented Softball New Zealand in six senior WBSC world championships, winning four golds and one silver, and one junior world championship, winning silver.

“I wish to share my knowledge of the Sport I have been involved in over the past 33 years. Having a voice to represent the players is an important role and I am greatly privileged to receive,” Nukunuku commented.

An account manager by trade, Nukunuku also is the head coach to the Auckland Men’s NFC and Mt Albert Ramblers teams.

He will join Venezuelan Maria Soto as the two athlete representatives on the Board.  Both have four year terms and full voting rights.
