U-18 Baseball World Cup: here’s Canada roster

AJAX (Ontario), Canada-The hosts of the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup announce their 20 man roster. Canada will count on 6 players drafted by Major League Baseball teams

AJAX (Ontario), Canada- Baseball Canada announced their 20 man roster for the U-18 Baseball World Cup, that they are going to host in Thunder Bay from 1 through 10 September. The announcement follows an 8 game exhibition series against Australia (ranked number 8 in the world by WBSC, they will play in the same Group in the qualifying round) that saw Canada (number 10) win five games and drop three.
Greg Hamilton manages the coaching staff. Former Big Leaguer Mike Johnson will serve as the pitching coach, and former National Team players Chris Begg, and Hyung Cho will serve as assistant coaches.

PITCHERS (9) Abram, Cerantola, De Cooman, Gollert, Hassall, Leach, Moore, Sierra, Smith
CATCHERS (3) Brookman, Cerny, Naylor
INFIELDERS (4) Bremner, Julien, Stovman, Willow
OUTFIELDERS (4) Clarke, Keyes, Lebreux, Parente

The roster features 6 players that were selected in the 2017 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft: Dondrae Bremner (Cincinnati Reds), Edouard Julien (Philadelphia Phillies), Clayton Keyes (Arizona Diamondbacks), Landon Leache (who has already started his professional career in the Guld Coast League), Cade Smith (Minnesota Twins) and Jason Willow (Orioles).

Canada finished sixth in the 2015 U-18 World Cup, but in the past won a gold medal (1991), a silver medal (2012) and 4 bronze medals (1983, 1987, 1997 and 2006) in the competition. They will debut in the tournament against Chinese Taipei on 1 September.
