The eyes of the softball world will be on Prince Albert, Canada, for the next nine days as the XII Junior Men’s Softball World Championship got underway today. In the first game of the tournament Mexico defeated Denmark, 12-1, to kick off the event.

The WBSC Junior Men’s Softball World Championship XII will take off on Saturday, 7 July, in Prince Albert, Canada.

The Group B of the WBSC Junior Men’s Softball World Championship (JMSWC) includes two former World Champions, the European champion and two newcomer nations. New Zealand, Canada, USA, Czech Republic, Guatemala and Hong Kong are the six teams playing in this group.

The 7-team Group A of the WBSC Junior Men’s Softball World Championship (JMSWC) features Japan, Argentina, Australia, Mexico, Denmark, South Africa and India. All the Olympic continents are represented in this group.

Just 30 days from now Denmark and Mexico will take the field in Prince Albert to open the XII WBSC Junior Men’s World Championship. The first pitch of the event is scheduled on 7 July, 10:00 a.m. local time (17:00 p.m. CET), at field 1 of the Prince Albert’s Max Power Ball Parks.
