U-15 Baseball World Cup: USA blanks Cuba 10-0 behind Hartle, Schrier
USA (3-1) moves atop the Super Round standings, while Cuba drops to 2-2 heading into Saturday’s decisive games.
DAVID, Panama – The United States U-15 National Team scored a 10-0 shutout victory over defending U-15 Baseball World Cup champions Cuba.
Cody Schrier started things off with a solo home run to left field in the top of the first inning. Schrier went 3-for-4 with two RBI, while teammate Brady House also had two RBI.
USA pitcher Josh Hartle silenced Cuban batters, tossing five scoreless innings to earn the win. At the plate, his three-run triple in the third highlighted a five-run inning for USA and gave them a 6-0 lead.
Cuba starting pitcher Jean Lorenzo Batista suffered the loss after surrendering five earned runs over 2.1 innings of work.

In the Consolation Round Friday afternoon, Australia topped China, 9-2.
