Venezuela will be among the favourites in the VIII WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup, which will be played from 22-31 August at the USSSA Space Coast Complex in Viera, Florida.

USA Baseball has completed a nationwide search to find the best 20 players in the country to compete in the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup, the biggest stage in women’s baseball.

Emeralds manager Simone Wearne said the Aussie squad she is taking to Viera consists of the most talented women’s players in the country.

The WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup® 2018 Trophy Tour will visit six U.S. cities and five MLB ballparks before arriving on Florida’s Space Coast in Viera for the start of biggest event in women’s baseball on 22 August.

Carrying a 21-game World Cup win-streak, they will be the favourites of the VIII WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup. Their roster is a mix of veterans, including 2016 World Cup MVP Ayami Sato, and younger girls, including players born in the new Millenium

WBSC appointed a total of 22 game officials (6 scorers, 5 technical commissioners and 11 umpires) from 13 different Nations for the VII Women’s Baseball World Cup, to be played in August in Viera (Florida, USA).

The 12 qualified nations have been drawn into two groups of six and will begin the women’s baseball flagship competition with a round-robin.
