World No. 7 Mexico has announced the team schedule for 2018, ending with the WBSC Women’s Softball World Championship to be held in Chiba, Japan, from 2-12 August, the first qualifier event for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

Mexico will get things started on July 6 with open tryouts for their junior and senior teams. Players selected in the tryout will be invited to join the team for the exhibition games against Scrap Yard Fast Pitch and Chinese Taipei, to be played on 7-8 July at Mt. San Antonio College Softball facilities, in Walnut, California. You can visit www.teammexicosoftball.com to see the schedule, purchase tickets and watch the games (live-streaming).

Mexico will continue its preparation by competing in the USA Softball International Cup, July 9-15 in the City of Irvine, California.

On July 16, the team will travel to Mexico City to join the Mexican delegation to participate in the Central American and the Caribbean Games from July 19-27 in Barranquilla, Colombia, the beggining of the Olympic cicle for nations in the region. Finally, they will head to Japan for the World Championship in Chiba, where the top nation will earn the first spot in Tokyo 2020 (not counting Japan who gets an automatic spot as host country).

The Mexican Team is ending a 12-day training camp in Hiroshima, Japan, where they played some exhibition games and experienced a cultural exchange as part of the preparation for the 2018 season.
