WBSC Women’s Softball World Championship Chiba 2018: playoff tickets to go on sale tomorrow

The Organizing Committee of the WBSC Women’s Softball World Championship 2018 will launch tomorrow (2 June) the global tickets sales for the Playoffs and Placement Round games of the tournament. Fans around the world will be able to buy their tickets here.

Japanese convenience store giant Lawson is the official ticketing site of the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup 2018 Chiba. They launched the tickets sale for the round robin on 20 May, with a huge demand. Now, the tickets for the most important games of the tournament will be available for everyone.

The Championship Playoffs will start on 8 August, with the best 8 teams of the round robin playing for the title of World Champions. The 10 playoff games will be played at Chiba Marine Stadium, with the Bronze Medal Game and the World Championship Finale scheduled for 10 August. This day the world will know the first qualified nation for the historic return of softball to the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020.

The Placement Round games will take place in Naspa Stadium and Akitsu Stadium, from 8-10 August.

The event will showcase the best 16 nations in the world, representing the five Olympic continents. The teams have been drawn into two groups:

Group A: No. 1 United States (defending WBSC Women’s Softball World Champions), No. 5 Chinese Taipei, No. 6 Puerto Rico, No. 7 Mexico, No. 8 Netherlands, No. 11 New Zealand, No. 15 Philippines and No. 35 South Africa.

Group B: No. 2 Japan, No. 3 Canada, No. 4 Australia, No. 9 Italy, No. 12 China, No. 14 Great Britain, No. 17 Venezuela and No. 33 Botswana.
