Cuba announced the manager that will lead the Baseball National Team to the Pan American Games and WBSC Premier12: Rey Vicente Anglada, who will begin his second stint as skipper of ‘La Seleccion’ working on a 63-men pre-selection

The top-ranked Japanese National Team shut out world No. 6 Mexico, 6-0, as the two squads split the two-game series before a crowd of 28,622 Sunday night (10 March) at the Kyocera Dome Osaka.

World No. 6 Mexico came from behind to take Game 1 of a two-game series with top-ranked Japan, before a crowd of 28,933 Saturday night at the Kyocera Dome Osaka.

The top men’s national teams of world No. 1 Japan and No. 6 Mexico will open their two-game series Saturday evening (10 March) at the Kyocera Dome Osaka, in a test ahead of November’s flagship WBSC Premier12, a Tokyo 2020 Olympic direct qualifier.

Atsunori Inaba, manager of the world No. 1 Samurai Japan National Baseball Team since 2017, announced the 28 players he has selected to play against No. 6 Mexico in two WBSC-sanctioned games at Osaka’s Kyocera Dome on 9-10 March.

After announcing the host cities and the composition of the three groups, WBSC organized a Workshop for the participating team to the Premier12 2019. Next announcement will be in April with the full 32 game schedule

WBSC presented the groups and venues of the second Premier12. The global baseball battle will take off in Jalisco (Mexico), Taichung (Chinese Taipei), Seoul (Korea) and will then move to Tokyo and Chiba, Japan

The year’s top international baseball competition will begin with opening rounds in Jalisco (Mexico), Taichung (Chinese Taipei) and Seoul (Korea).

Major announcements at press conference will include unveiling of the three Opening Round hosts, dates and locations; revealing the National Teams in Groups A, B and C; unveiling the Official 2019 WBSC Premie12 Trophy; and new sponsorship

As part of the accord, the national federation, CTBA, would lead hosting a major event like this year’s WBSC Premier12, while the top-tier league CPBL would manage the men’s National Team.
