Venezuela, USA overpower Italy, Australia
Venezuela and USA got started in the group B outscoring Italy and Australia. Both National Teams showed they can rely on the long ball
Venezuela got off a good start in group B with a 15-0 win against Italy in four innings.
Venezuela’s starter Trujillo proved to be unbeatable for the Azzurri. The Italian National Team went hitless and reached only on two walks.
Venezuela jumped on Italy’s starter Giorgeschi, scoring five in the first, using some little help from a defensive error. They went on to combine 14 hits.
First baseman Leonel Dominguez starred with three home runs and seven runs batted in.
Venezuela overpowered Italy
The three-time defending World Champions USA got started with a 10-0 win against Australia.
The USA line up was overpowering and got 13 hits, including home runs by first baseman Hartshorn, rightfielder Ruckert and starting pitcher Lewis
Brenden Lewis went the distance, allowing only one hit and striking out four to earn the win.
