Netherlands, Spain qualify for WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup 2019

The Netherlands defeated, 6-3, Spain in the final of the U-18 European Championship in Grosseto, Italy, and claimed the title for the sixteenth time. Luuk Teer Beek picked the win pitching 8 innings.

Both National Teams qualify for the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup 2019, to be played in Gjang County (Busan), South Korea.

The Netherlands dominated the tournament with six wins and no losses and outscored the opponents 82-19.

The hosts Italy proved to be the major disappointment, failing to qualify for the World Cup and failing to clinch a  Continental medal for the first time in the Under 18 age bracket.

Czech Republic defeated Italy, 4-3, in the third place game and claimed a bronze medal.
