World No. 1 USA announced the final roster for the WBSC U-19 Women’s Softball World Cup, to be held from 10-17 August in Irvine, California, USA. The host team aims to clinch the third world championship in a row in this age category.

“This was a difficult decision because it’s never easy to narrow a roster of 20 of the best softball players in our country to 17,” said U-19 WNT Head Coach, Heather Tarr. “Each athlete gave it their all through the training and evaluation process, and it also provided them with an opportunity to grow from the experience and challenge themselves at a pivotal point in their career. I look forward to continuing to come together as a team when we train in Spartanburg and the days leading up to the U-19 Women’s Softball World Cup as we strive to become the best team we possibly can when we take the field in Irvine this August.”

The 17-player roster selected by Tarr is:

  1. Jadelyn Allchin
  2. Jayda Coleman
  3. Julia Cottrill
  4. Bailey Dowling
  5. Charla Echols
  6. Megan Faraimo
  7. Montana Fouts
  8. Kelli Godin
  9. Frankie Hammoude
  10. Madison Huskey
  11. Lexi Kilfoyl
  12. Kelley Lynch
  13. Taylor Pleasants
  14. Jasmine Sievers
  15. Macy Simmons
  16. Rylee Trlicek
  17. Skylar Wallace

USA is in Group A, along with No. 5 Mexico, No. 15 Czech Republic and No. 43 Botswana. The two-time world champions will open the tournament on 10 August against Mexico, after the Opening Ceremony.

The top two finishers from each group will advance to the eight-team, four-days Super Round. The top two teams from the Super Rounds will compete for the World Cup Final while the third and fourth-place teams will compete for the Bronze Medal.

The U-19 WNT comes off a historic run at the USA Softball International Cup where the team took home the Bronze Medal after posting a 7-3 record, with wins over two top 10 opponents within the WBSC Softball world rankings.
