Armando Ferrer will manage the Cuban National Baseball Team in the WBSC Americas Qualifier to the Games of the XXXII Olympiad Tokyo 2020. Ferrer managed Matanzas to the final series of the Cuban National League, Serie Nacional.

Ferrer's staff will include Carlos Marti, the manager who beat him in the final series in early April, Ricardo Eizmendiz, Jose Hernandez, Alexander Ramos, Raciel Sanchez and Jesus Salgado. Eizmendiz and Hernandez were a part of Cuba's coaching staff in the WBSC Premier12 2019.
Ferrer will open camp at the Victoria de Giron Stadium in Matanzas. Cuba will warm-up for the Americas Qualifier at the Caribbean Baseball Cup, scheduled from 8 to 15 May, in Willemstad, Curaçao.
World No. 7 Cuba will compete in Group B of the Americas Qualifier, which is scheduled from 31 May to 5 June in The Palm Beaches & St. Lucie County, Florida.
The group also includes world No. 9 Venezuela, No. 13 Canada and No. 14 Colombia.
