It will be Mexico's first-ever participation in softball at the Olympic Games.

The Mexican National/Olympic Softball Team has been revealed for the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, where Mexico will make it's Olympic softball debut.

Fourteen of the 15 players from Mexico's 2019 WBSC Softball Americas Qualifier winning roster have made the team for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Mexico’s pitching staff remain unchanged from the 2019 Olympic qualifier, where Escobedo, Hyland, McQuillin and O’Toole combined for a 0.37 ERA, while allowing only 2 runs in 7 games. The staff had a 10.5 strikeout-to-walk ratio, tallying 63 strikeouts against 6 walks.

The Mexican Olympic Softball Team will begin training in Japan this week in Onomichi, where they will tune up against the Japanese National Softball Team.

Tokyo 2020 – Olympic Softball Schedule

Mexico will open their Olympic softball tournament against Canada on 21 July at Fukushima Azuma Baseball Stadium.
