U.S. Olympic Softball Team lands in Japan, set to train for Tokyo 2020
USA's training camp includes a series of doubleheaders against Japan professional softball teams
The USA Olympic Softball Team has arrived in Iwakuni, Japan, to start the squad's Olympic preparations. USA's training camp will include practices and exhibition games held at Atago Sports Complex from 6-13 July.
The U.S. will kick off exhibition matchups on Friday, July 9, with a doubleheader against Iyo Bank Vertz followed by three more doubleheaders scheduled for July 11-13 against Toyota Terriers and Hitachi Sundiva.
USA will open their Olympics against Italy on 21 July at Fukushima Azuma Baseball Stadium.
USA is hunting for the nation's fourth Olympic softball gold medal, after earning silver at the 2008 Beijing Games.
