After an early scare, the Dutch play solid baseball and earn an advantage in Group B's race for the Super Round.

World No. 8 the Netherlands struggled to field Brazil's short ball early in the game, before managing to tie the game on a home run by Darnel Collins in the bottom of the second and going on to win it 5-2 and earn an advantage in Group B's race for Super Round positions.

Brazil, ranked 25th in the world, scored two runs making the most of a leadoff walk by Dutch starter Allard Helms. The small ball forced the Dutch defence into an error, and catcher Julian Takeda hit an RBI single to make it 2-0.

The Netherlands tied it in the bottom of the second when right fielder Darnell Collins homered on a full-count offering by Emmanoel Madeira.

The Dutch scored the go-ahead runs against reliever Joao Marostica. Arizona Diamondbacks prospect Jakey Josefa hit a sacrifice play, and Marostica balked with the bases loaded to score Kendrey Maduro.

Brazil stranded a bases-loaded situation in the top of the sixth. Reliever Bryon Rincones got out of the jam as he struck out third baseman Matheus Magalhaes swinging and got pinch hitter Barbosa on a pop fly to first.

The Netherlands now have two wins and one defeat and will play world No. 3 Korea on Tuesday while after starting the tournament with two wins, Brazil have now suffered back-to-back losses and play group leaders USA on Tuesday.
