Hao Yu Lee has been playing against the top baseball players in the world since 2015 when he suited up for Chinese Taipei at the 2015 U-12 WBSC Baseball World Cup.

Lee, who was a part of Chinese Taipei's world championship winning team at the 2019 U-18 Baseball World Cup, recently earned Player of the Week honours in Minor League Baseball's Class A Florida State League.

The 19-year-old infielder signed for a US$ 500,000 bonus with Major League Baseball's Philadelphia Phillies in June 2021.

After appearing in just nine games during his first professional season in 2021, Lee is making an impact. He is 37-for-114, .325 batting average and a .412 on-base percentage, with six doubles, five home runs, one triple and 29 runs batted in (RBIs).

Lee has performed above average at shortstop (16 games), second base (4) and third base (6), committing just one error in 142 innings.

Lee helped World No. 2 Chinese Taipei win the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup 2019 as a 16-year-old. He was in the lineup for the World Championship game versus the United States as the designated hitter, went 1-for-2 and drew two walks. He played at second base and hit cleanup in every other game.

He also represented Chinese Taipei at the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 2015, playing third base, hitting .500 and appearing in three games as a pitcher, and in the U-15 Baseball World Cup 2018, playing shortstop, hitting .360, and appearing in four games as a pitcher.
