The 25-game, WBSC-sanctioned series will feature both countries’ U-15 and U-18 national teams. The games will be held in Bollate, Legnano, Caronno and Saronno, Italy.

The first edition of the U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup (which replaced the former U-19 Women’s Softball World Championship) was set to take place from 23-30 August in Lima, Peru, but was postponed in April to a later unconfirmed date in the year due to the continued spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

European nations will battle next year for spots in the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cups (Senior, U-23 and U-18), the U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup and the U-12 Mixed Softball World Cup.

South Africa will represent the African continent, while Colombia received the last available wild card

Following a video conference on Tuesday with WBSC Continental Associations and Local Organising Committees, the WBSC took the decision to postpone the events until further notice.

The WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup 2020 will take place from 14-23 August in Mexico, while the U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup will run from 23-30 August in Lima, Peru.

Villa María del Triunfo Sports Complex, venue of the Pan American Games Lima 2019 softball competition, will be the stage for the first edition of the U-18 Women's Softball World Cup, which replaces the U-19 age category.
