Katia Coello continues as head coach of the Peruvian U-18 Women’s National Softball Team for the WBSC U-18 Softball World Cup in Lima later this year.

Softball Peru unveiled its national team coaching staff for 2021. Katia Coello will lead the Softball Peru U-18 Women’s National Team in the respective Softball World Cup, which will be held in the country’s capital city of Lima from 28 August to 5 September. Rafael Orozco will lead all Peru's men’s national teams and the U-15 women’s squad.

Coello will continue leading the senior and U-18 women’s national teams. The head coach has been working over the last years on the development of this group of players, and will face the biggest challenge playing as host team in the WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup. She will also steer the senior team.

In addition, the national governing body has added Orozco to the staff. The Colombian coach is returning to Peru after eight years. He will manage all men’s national teams (senior, U-23, U-17 and U-15) aiming to qualify for the various WBSC Softball World Cups, and also oversee the U-15 women’s squad.

Currently, Peru is sitting at 19th in the WBSC Women’s Softball World Ranking, and 36th in the WBSC Men’s Softball World Ranking.
