Media accreditation open for WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup

Media registration is now open for the III WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup, scheduled from 23 September to 2 October in the Sonora State, Mexico.

The registration deadline is Friday, 17 September.

All members of the media, both local/national and international, who plan to cover the U-23 Baseball World Cup must apply for accreditation through the official WBSC Media Accreditation online platform at https://my.wbsc.org.

The accreditations procedure starts by clicking on MEDIA ACCREDITATIONS. The online needs to be completed, including also a headshot.

While filling the online form, media members need to take particular care when selecting between Estadio de Sonora, Hermosillo, and Estadio de Yaquis, Ciudad Obregon, as the pick-up location of their credential. Indicating the wrong location may result in the impossibility to collect the credential.

Once the request is submitted, media members will receive an automated confirmation e-mail.

Media members will be able to check the status of their request after 17 September by accessing mywbsc.org and clicking on SEARCH FOR YOUR ACCREDITATION on the top right of the page. They will then need to enter their name, last name and email address

The 12 participating National Teams will start the tournament with a group stage or round-robin.

Group A - Ciudad Obregon: Mexico, the Czech Republic, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Germany and Chinese Taipei
Group B - Hermosillo: Colombia, Korea, the Netherlands, Nicaragua, Panama and Venezuela

Pre-tournament and medal game press conferences will be held virtually. Media outlets are to be informed about details at a later stage.

The WBSC will share a protocol for media interviews during the U-23 Baseball World Cup with the accredited media before the tournament opens,

GUIDELINES FOR NON-RIGHTS HOLDING (“NRH”) MEDIA

• Coverage by Non-Rights Holding TV/RADIO and Crew
• Only rights holders of applicable games may transmit game footage (audio and/or video) of WBSC events.
• NRH media credentials provide access to official training sessions, games, and any Opening/Closing Ceremonies. NB: Access will be granted subject to local health guidelines and regulations.
• Credentials will be granted by specific category (i.e., Press, Photographer, Radio, and TV), and stadium access will be granted accordingly.
• Photographers and NRH TV crew will be required to wear WBSC-issued media vests.
