The 12-team tournament in Mexico will conclude with the world championship and bronze medal games on Saturday, 2 October.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) today announced the official dates and sites of the WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup 2021, which will run from 23 September to 2 October in the State of Sonora, Mexico.

Sonora capital Hermosillo will host Group B and the Super Round. Ciudad Obregon will host Group A and the placement round that determines 7th to 12th places.

The finals are scheduled for Saturday, 2 October, in Hermosillo.

A total of 12 participating teams will be split into two groups, with the top three finishers of each group advancing to the Super Round.

The WBSC previously ruled to expand the age category for the upcoming edition of the WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup in Mexico to include players up to the age of 24, as a result of the one-year postponement of the event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
