USA hits 8 home runs, outscores Czech Republic in WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup opener

The United States needed just three at-bats to combine for 20 hits, including 8 home runs, to outscore the Czech Republic, 24-0.

Jordan Leon hit the first home run of the VI WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup, and the United States took an early lead over the Czech Republic.

Leon added another in his second at-bat in the first inning. Right-fielder Trent O'Malley and first baseman Eli Martinez also homered, and the US went to the plate 18 times in the first inning.

First baseman Eli Martinez, catcher Cristian Matos, second baseman Maximus Villalva and pinch hitter Anthony Frausto also homered later in the game.

Second baseman Alex Vesely and first baseman Vaclav Novak had the only Czech hits of the afternoon.
