Softball Australia has revealed the athletes that will make up the Aussie Spirit National Softball Team at The World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama (USA), to be played from 9-13 July. Nine veterans from Australia's Tokyo 2020 Olympic squad will return for the 2022 season. The squad will also compete at the Canada Cup in June.
Softball Australia National Team Head Coach Laing Harrow said: “While this team has a few new faces...it also features many players who have extensive international experience coming off the Olympics.

Harrow said it’s an exciting time for the Aussie Women's Softball programme: "We are capitalising on the recent form of these athletes and moving back into international competition. The Canada Cup will be our first international event post-Olympics, and the World Games features eight of the top-10 ranked nations in the world, so these events will be a true test for our elite level athletes.”
On Monday, Softball Australia announced the Travelodge Aussie Spirit and Spirit Development Squads. Players for the Travelodge Aussie Spirit Team have been chosen from both rosters.
For The World Games, world No. 8 Australia will compete in Group B, along with No. 2 Japan, No. 4 Mexico and No. 5 Puerto Rico. The Aussies will meet Japan in what will be both teams' opener on 9 July.
