IX WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup Group A: Day 4 games rained out, moved to Sunday

Friday's three games at Port Arthur Stadium have been suspended and moved to the rain day on Sunday, 13 August.

With constant rain putting all of Friday's games of the IX WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Group A at Port Arthur Stadium in Thunder Bay on hold, it was decided that all games be moved to Sunday, 13 August, with exact game times to be determined and confirmed at a later stage.

Saturday’s three games will remain as scheduled.

The United States will meet Hong Kong, China in Saturday's first game at 11:30. The North Americans aim to clinch their ticket to next year’s Finals, while the Asians need a win to remain in the hunt for a spot. USA will send Kelsie Whitmore to the mound, while Hong Kong, China will start with Choi Shee In.

In the second game Korea and Mexico will square off at 15:30, with the Tricolor looking for their third consecutive win in the competition with Rosa Maria del Castillo, as she will take the ball for Mexico. This is the last call for Korea to stay in contention, after dropping the first three games in this World Cup. Korea will send Minsung Park.

Saturday's final game will see Australia and Canada facing off at Port Arthur Stadium in a must-win contest for both national teams. Canada need to bounce back from Thursday’s loss against USA, while Australia must clinch this game to remain in contention. The hosts will start with Allison Schroder, while Genevieve Beacom will be the visiting side's starting pitcher.

Meanwhile, we talked to legend Shae Lillywhite and Genevieve Beacom of Australia, watch and listen to what they have to say about each other and more.
