Damon Creasy leads New Zealand’s offence in five-inning win over Israel

New Zealand scored at least one run in each of their four at bats. Damon Creasy went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, while Joshua Lubiejewski and Xavier Sage collected two.

New Zealand earned their first win of the tournament with a 9-0 victory over Israel in Game 2 of the WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup. Liam Potts tossed five innings of one-hit ball to lead his team to victory.

New Zealand scored at least one run in each of their four at-bats. Damon Creasy went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, while Joshua Lubiejewski and Xavier Sage collected two.

For New Zealand, Potts earned the win after pitching five scoreless innings. He struck out three while allowing only one hit, a single by Israel’s leadoff hitter Gil Alon in the fourth inning.

Israel starter Kfair Leon pitched 3.2 innings, while giving up five hits and six runs, and was charged with the loss. Seth Ross replaced him and allowed three hits and three runs.
