A pair of home runs allowed the Mexicans to tie the game, while an infield hit gave Mexico the game-winning run.

Mexico recovered from a four-run deficit in the fifth to claim their first win of the WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup against Argentina, by a score of 5-4. A pair of home runs allowed the Mexicans to tie the game, while an infield hit gave Mexico the game-winning run.

Argentina jumped ahead in the scoreboard in the second inning. With a runner on first, Khalil Luna smashed a line drive to the left field wall for an inside-the-park home run.

Argentina's first baseman Luciano Biondi added two more for the host country with a double to right-centre field.

Mexico made their comeback in the fifth, when left fielder Iran Torres hit a towering three-run homer over the centre field fence to put his team back in the game. One inning later, Jordan Solorio tied the game with a solo shot, and an infield hit by David Diaz allowed Abelardo Penuelas to score the go-ahead run.

Jose Valdez had an excellent appearance in relief, tossing 4.1 innings of one-hit ball, with four strikeouts and a walk. Argentina scored all their runs against Jesus Valdez, who pitched 2.2 innings and gave up five hits and four runs.

For Argentina, the losing pitcher was Matias Etchevers, who after pitching two innings in relief, allowed Mexico’s game-winning run in the sixth.
