WBSC Secretary-General Beng Choo Low meets Governor of Kochi Prefecture ahead of Men's, U-23 Softball Asia Cups

Three National Teams will compete for two spots in the WBSC U-23 Men's Softball World Cup during the U-23 Men's Softball Asia Cup, scheduled for 1 and 2 September in Shimanto City, Japan.

World No. 2 Japan, No. 14 Singapore and No. 16 India will play a double round-robin.

The U-23 Men's Softball World Cup is scheduled from 22 to 30 October in Argentina.

WBSC Secretary General and Softball Asia (SA) President Beng Choo Low met on Monday, 29 August, with His Excellency Hamada Seiji, the Governor of Kochi Prefecture. He approved a special grant to Japan Softball.

Japan Softball Association (JSA) executive director Tomoaki Okamoto participated in the meeting with the president of the Shimanto City Sports Association, Tomori Masanori, SA secretary-general Sally Lim, SA Technical Committee chair See Kok Wooi, who will also serve as the tournament director.

Shimanto will also host from 3 to 6 September the Men's Softball Asia Cup. Seven of Asia's best softball teams will compete for two spots in the XVII WBSC Men's Softball World Cup, which is scheduled from 26 November to 4 December in New Zealand.

The participants in the continental championship are world No. 2 Japan, No. 15 Singapore, No. 16 India, No. 21 Philippines, No. 24 Hong Kong, No. 35 Thailand and Chinese Taipei.
