MVP Boulware leads WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup All-World Team

USA’s Aspen Boulware was voted by officials as the best player of the tournament, leading the All-World Team, picked from athletes from the medal games teams.

USA's Aspen Boulware was named the Most Valuable Player at the inaugural WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup, where she was also included as part of the outstanding outfield of the All-World Team.

The 15-year-old appeared in eight games and went 8-for-19, with a .421 batting average, 10 runs, four home runs and six RBIs.

“We worked so hard to be here and we ended up winning,” Boulware said.

“I was very surprised that I got MVP, and every time they called my name (for an award) it just felt surreal. I expected to do my best and my best happened to exceed my expectations.

"I always tried to do great, but the Lord blessed me with so many opportunities and successes. It’s just amazing.

“This is a step towards LA28, with softball being played in the Olympics. Being No. 1 in the world is awesome and I am so honoured to be part of it.”

In the Closing Ceremony, the WBSC also announced the U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup All-World Team, which represents the four medal round teams.
